Certificate of Proficiency (CoP) Rating Continued Competence Refresher
NONAC03052 Relevant competencies from STCW Tables A-VI/1-1, A-VI/1-2 and A-VI/2-1
The Certificate of Proficiency (CoP) Rating Continued Competence Refresher Training is designed for holders of an AMSA issued Certificate of Proficiency as Rating (Integrated Rating, Able Seaman, Deck Rating or Engine Room Rating). The course meets the mandatory Sea Survival, Basic Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, and Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats (CPSC) continued competency requirements for current seafarers with qualifying sea service.

Note: All continued competency refresher courses are valid for up to five years and may be used once for revalidation purposes. Non ASQA Training Package.

This course covers the relevant refresher competencies from the STCW short courses, Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other an Fast Rescue Boats (CPSC) and Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting.
Note: All continued competence refresher courses are valid for up to 5 years and may be used once for revalidation purposes.

- Personal Survival Techniques (STCW Table A-VI/1-1)
- Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (STCW Table A-VI/1-2)
- Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats (STCW Table A-VI/2-1)

Entry requirements
Minimum age requirement is 16 years.
Current Certificate of Competency (IR/Able Seaman/Deck Rating/Engine Room Rating).

Assessment procedures
Assessment will include written tests and practical demonstration of skills.
Resources required
You will need to bring the following:
- Evidence of your Certificate of Proficiency
- Wear comfortable clothing and closed in shoes (runners are suitable)
- Towel and swimmers
- Spare change of under garments
- Thick work socks (no anklet socks)
- Sunhat
- Water bottle
- Lunch and snacks as you require
